This week we are experiencing beautiful weather and it is bringing out the fall colors. The maples have really changed in the last two days.

Reds and oranges are covering the sawtooth mountain ridges. There are still more to turn but peak for the maples will be this weekend.

Lower Gooseberry Falls

The yellows along the shore are just starting to show. We had relatives from Kansas this week and we took them to see some of the waterfalls. The cedar roots along the Upper and Lower Gooseberry Falls are exceptionally pretty this time of year.

I went out with the outdoor editor for the Duluth News Tribune this morning to see if we could call in a bull moose for a story he is going to run this weekend. I thought the odds would be about 1000 to 1 but on our third stop we did call in a nice young bull. It was a pretty exciting adventure. I will let you read about it in the Duluth News Tribune this weekend.
