Sea Smoke 001

It isn’t too often that the windchill gets down to twenty below zero next to the Grand Marais Harbor. But this week it did. That kind of temperature creates lots of “Sea Smoke” which is evaporation coming off of the warmer water of Lake Superior.

The lighthouse was surrounded by “Sea Smoke”.

As the sun rose above the clouds of “Sea Smoke” the light reflected off the water.

There were plenty of incoming waves to make the morning even more interesting.

Some of the waves were producing their own spray. I could only get a few photos and then have to go back to the car as the spray froze to the lens not to mention myself. The only way to get it off was to warm it up in the car.
