Lake Superior Waves 001

A Southwest wind had been blowing all day creating impressive waves along the North Shore. Right after sunset I hiked down to the point west of the Grand Marais Rec Area to photograph the waves colliding with one of the rock cliffs.

A lone surfer was enjoying the huge waves right up to dark. Lake Superior waters requires a good wet suit to protect you from freezing.
