We took our granddaughters camping this last week to a beautiful little lake. The weather couldn't have been better.

We had a doe and fawn run through our campsite. But no photos. This one was along the road to the entrance of the campground.

She let me get close because there was a fawn on the other side of the road in the trees. Then a truck came by and they went separate ways. I am sure they got together before long.

This little lake has nice size sunfish.

Fishing produced a lot of smiles and we kept about two dozen sunfish for a couple of nice meals.

Two of our granddaughters weren’t afraid to touch the leaches and even let them attach to their fingers. When we got to shore, we had a couple leeches left and asked some teenagers that were fishing on the dock if they wanted them. They said “I think so”.

You should have saw the look on their faces when Tova carried one over to them in her hand. They just kind of stood back and said “Just put it in this bucket”. I don’t think they wanted to touch it.

On the way down we stopped at Jay Cooke State Park to see the State Flower.

With the cool wet spring they took on a deep magenta color and were the most beautiful that I have seen them in several years.

This group is right along the trail so they are accessible by wheel chair.

We also saw lots of other wildflowers including this field of lupines with white pine in the background.

It was the week of July’s Full Moon. This image was taken in the morning so it is the setting July "Full Buck Moon".

It is also called the Super Moon as it was the closest to earth that it will be all year.

This image is the rising of the full moon that night. It almost looks like it is in the same spot but I am at opposite ends of the harbor for the setting in the morning and rising in the evening.
