September Sunrise Split Rock Lighthouse State Park 001

September is one of the best times to photograph the sunrise from the HWY61 Wayside overlooking Split Rock Lighthouse so when the forecast called for zero mile per hour winds for the next 24 hours I knew I had to get up early Thursday and capture the sunrise.

As the sun rose higher the colors got brighter. You can see the sun reflecting off of the light.

With the sun rising just to the left of the light house it made for a great panorama. I was happy I got up early to enjoy another great sunrise over Lake Superior.

I stopped at Palisade Head in Tettegouche State Park on my way home to see Shovel Point reflected in the calm waters.
