A few of the maples hung on to their beautiful leaves giving one last splash of red for the season. This one by Silver Bay I thought was exceptionally beautiful as the leaves started dropping to the forest floor.
Karla and I spent a day up the Gunflint Trail where the birch and aspen were at their peak. We stopped at the pines in George Washington State Forest on our way up.
There were a few passing rain clouds in the two hours I was there but none produced the rainbow I was waiting for. I sure wasn’t complaining though with a view like this.
