The snow has melted and the smaller ponds are ice free. It is the time of year when the wood ducks arrive. I got in my blind just after 5:00 am since the ducks arrive early.
Two climbed onto a moss-covered log to do some preening. The sun is hitting the wood duck on the left showing the gorgeous iridescent glow of the feathers.
The wood ducks didn’t seem concerned when this deer stopped by for a drink. It was a beautiful morning spent enjoying the sights and sounds of spring on the North Shore.
