Calm Waters 001
We have had beautiful weather this week. Lake Superior has kept the temperatures cooler than the rest of the state and our granddaughter has enjoyed spending time on the shore swimming in Lake Superior. She especially enjoyed this beach by Father Baraga’s Cross.

We camped at the Grand Marais Rec Area so she could spend more time enjoying the lake.

One morning the sunrise was awesome.

One of the best I’ve seen all summer. The lake was just like glass.

Our local commercial fishermen were heading out to check their nets accompanied by a few hundred herring gulls.

Robin Nest 001
The robins that I photographed earlier nested again. I just happened to notice them heading to their nest which was only about 6 feet from where they nested a month ago.

This time they used a small spruce.

The babies were already pretty good sized before I noticed the nest.

Addie, one of our granddaughters was with me so she took this photo and the next one.

She caught the babies with their heads all in alignment. She was pretty happy with this photo.
