With the State Fair coming to an end and cooler temperatures in the air summer is on its way out. The first colors displaying fall’s arrival are always the bright red of the mountain ash berries.
Most of the mountain ash are heavy with berries this year so the migrating birds should have plenty to eat. It will be fun to see the waxwings as they come through in a few months.
I was in the process of setting up my tripod to take a long “depth of field” photo so that both the lighthouse and the fireweed were both in focus when this bumble bee started flitting from flower to flower.
