First Snow 001

This week we received our first snow for the year. It rained along the shore of Lake Superior but just up the Gunflint Trail there was enough snow to make it look like winter had arrived.

The Maple Hill Church was surrounded by snow and colored leaves.

The moisture made the red of the maple leaves even more vibrant.

While I took these photos melting snow dropped from the pines sending little snow balls crashing to the ground around me.

The first snow is so beautiful against the colored leaves.

Pincushion Overlook

The snow didn’t last long. The reds of the sumac stand in deep contrast with the blue of Lake Superior.
