We had a couple of storms this week that coated some of the trees and branches along the shore with ice.
This brush along East Bay in Grand Marais was covered with beautiful clear icicles.
Lake Superior’s water is so clear that the icicles will reflect the blue from the sky.
It is amazing how much weight a small branch can hold when the ice is layered on just a fraction of an inch at a time.
Even though the wind-chill was well below zero kayakers were out enjoying a paddle.
The wind was blowing but this sunset was beautiful.
We had another beautiful sunset tonight. Taking the photo through the ice made it that much more memorable.
The reflection of the sunset in the moisture over the surface of the lake made it a melting sun.
