Our first snowstorm of the year hit the region this week and with it lots of wind. Gusts were recorded up to 77 mph at Stannard Rock in Lake Superior.
Near Marquette, MI they logged in the largest wave ever recorded in Lake Superior on a marker buoy at 28.8 feet.
The North Shore had it share of huge waves also. These images were taken as waves crashed into the shore at Crystal Bay in Tettegouche State Park.Storm Surge
The storm surge and high waves did lots of damage in Duluth and around the lake. Here in Grand Marais the parking lot was filled with water from the surge in East Bay.
