Split Rock Beacon Lighting 001

November 10 was the 42nd anniversary of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald. Over 1,500 people gathered at Split Rock Lighthouse to observe the ceremonies and watch the beacon lit at sunset. Its beam shone bright across the waters of Lake Superior.

I took this fun photo by using a telephoto lens and a fifteen second exposure. Ten seconds at wide angle and five seconds zoomed in close, which gives the photo two lighthouses.

Eight Point Buck

We saw this eight-point buck on the way to the lighting. He must have gotten into a fight, as one antler was already missing.
