Cascade River 001
The rain this week caused the North Shore rivers to put on quite a show. There is a great view of the Lower Cascade Falls now that the tree that was partially blocking the view has fallen.

Many white cedar trees cling to the banks of the Cascade River making for great photo opportunities.

The “Cascades” located about a quarter mile upstream on the Cascade River are a series of three picturesque waterfalls.

Fall River
The Fall River just outside of Grand Marais never gets much attention but with the current rainfall makes a great viewing spot right off Hwy 61.

The High Falls at Grand Portage State Park is by far the most dramatic.

With its 130-foot drop there is a lot of spray and on a sunny day that spray can produce a pretty awesome rainbow.

Duluth Lift Bridge
We watched the 4th of July fireworks this year from Duluth’s Enger Park. The Lift Bridge was lit with red, white and blue lights for the celebration.

Last night was the full moon, which I photographed in Two Harbors. A light fog moved in making for great photos. The Two Harbors Light cast its beam through the fog.
