Aurora

Sometimes it is hard to get up early in the morning but the adventures that can be experienced make it worthwhile. This week I awoke to the sky shimmering with aurora while I got ready to get into my blind to photograph wood ducks. Waves of green light were pulsating across the entire northern sky. The pulsations won’t show up on the camera but they are wonderful to experience.

After settling into the blind I waited for the wood ducks to arrive.

As the sun rose and lit up the pond the many beautiful colors of the wood ducks start to show.

This one swam pretty close creating blurred reflections of the nearby trees.

Between feeding and stretching their wings it was fun to watch the actions of the half dozen wood ducks that arrived.
