Read MoreMoose Tracks
We had some Duluth friends visit the area and they wanted to find a moose. We weren’t able to see the actual moose but we weren’t far behind a cow and calf. The tracks told the story. A wolf was in pursuit of the calf that was running down a forest service road. The toes were spread far apart which indicated that they were moving pretty fast. Both sets of tracks headed into the woods at the same location. Not far down the road, were tracks of the cow and calf beside each other as they jumped down a bank and continued running down the road. The mother must have come to the rescue, as there were no more wolf tracks.
