The Lake Superior Storm Festival was held last week and it celebrated the power and beauty of Lake Superior’s North Shore. Lake Superior did its part and put on quite a show.
Thursday evening the Edmund Fitzgerald Memorial Beacon Lighting was held at the Split Rock Lighthouse Historic Site. Several hundred people where present for the bell ringing and lighting of the light.
The weekend ended with what is called the “Super Moon”. When the moon is at perigee it is the closest to earth making it 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter.
