Bobcats have been seen with more frequency along the North Shore in recent years.

This winter I have heard of several sightings around the area. A friend told me about one that was occasionally coming to his house to eat the suet that he put out for the birds.

The timing was perfect as I was able to take photographs of this stunning cat as it approached an opening in the woods.

It was a large bobcat with beautiful colorations. Fresh snow added to the background. It was a lot of fun watching the bobcat move slowly through the trees. They move with such determination.

It stopped periodically to check out its surroundings, always alert for danger.

It wasn't sure if I was danger or not.

The fresh snow on the tips of the bobcat’s fur made a perfect outline against the spruce background.

The bobcat gave one last look before it disappeared into the thick evergreen forest.
