November Storm 001
We have had just about every type of weather that you can imagine this week. Strong Southwest winds stirred up Lake Superior’s wild side.
November Storm 002
For about 24 hours huge waves were hitting the North Shore.
November Storm 003
The Grand Marais Light always makes for a picturesque spot to photograph waves.
November Storm 004
A cargo ship passed by bucking waves on it’s way to the Duluth harbor.
November Storm 005
The gulls found one spot in front of the harbor where the waves weren’t washing them off the rocks.
November Storm 006
Some of the largest waves sent spray several feet in the air. When the waves got this high I had to use a raincoat to keep dry and a plastic sleeve to cover my camera.
Snow Covered Pines
Walking through the snow covered pines after our first snowfall of the year was a little more peaceful.
The next day heavy rains melted the snow and caused even some of the smaller creeks to look like “Spring Runoff”.
After the Storm 001
Following the storm we were treated to one of the most awesome sunsets.
After the Storm 003
After the sun went down another snow squall passed over Lake Superior creating amazing cloud formations.
