What a great week for Lake Superior photography. The week began with a great sunrise over the lake. It was very cold and windy as the sun set alight the wisps of sea smoke.
During the last two days a strong northeaster has pounded the shore with huge waves. These photos were taken in front of the new Tettegouche State Park visitor center.
I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw this park visitor walk out on the edge of the cliff to get a better view of the waves. Luckily he survived and made it back to the tree line before a wave removed him from the slippery edge of the cliff.
Today Karla and I stopped at Tettegouche to see if the spray from the waves had covered the trees since last night’s temperatures were quite cold. We found a winter wonderland as the spray had frozen to the rocks and trees along the shoreline.
