The next morning the sun had a very hazy glow. I believe it was in part due to the smoke from the fires out west. There have been so many fires in Washington, Idaho, Oregon and Northern California that the smoke has made it all the way to Michigan.
I believe the mark on the lower part of the sun is sunspot AR2403. It is growing each day and could be our next source of northern lights if it explodes while facing the earth.
