Spring has come to Georgia. Lots of birds are singing in the early morning hours. This cardinal has been a regular visitor to this dogwood tree in Rebecca’s backyard.

I really enjoy seeing the cardinals up close.

Gibbs Garden Georgia 001

We took our granddaughter, Addie, to the 220-acre Gibbs Gardens to see the daffodils. There are more than 20 million daffodils around the garden grounds.

Lots of the daffodils were past peak but some of the more fragrant ones were still out.

Red Bud

We also spent some time at Sweetwater Creek State Park. The Red Bud is a tree species similar to the dogwood. It has beautiful pink flowers that look like lady’s-slippers.

Sweetwater Creek State Park Moonrise 001

Addie enjoyed watching the full moon rise above the oaks. Her words were, “That is the largest full moon I have ever seen” and “It is humongous”.

The park manager was with us watching the moon come up. He was a really nice guy. He spent time showing Addie the different stars and planets and also the space station as it passed overhead. On the way home Addie, kept talking non-stop about the fun she had.

We also got to see a beautiful sunrise at Sweetwater.
