Wolf Lake
The fall color continues along the North Shore. Timing was everything this year. It has been difficult to capture the color as individual trees are turning at different times and keeping their brilliant color for just a few days. I made it to Wolf Lake just as these few maples were at their peak.

Lone Maple
One of my favorite maple trees is just north of Two Harbors. It was like this on a Saturday and turned brown on Monday.

Oberg Mountain is always a great hike especially in the fall.

Looking down on Oberg Lake gives an exceptional view. These colors also lasted only a few days.

I love hiking the back roads where the tree branches meet and create a tunnel of fall colors.

This leaf caught my eye with its blood red patches.

George Washington State Forest
Just up the Gunflint Trail is the George Washington State Forest. The undergrowth was such a contrast to the pines.

Caribou Rock Overlook 001
We hiked to Caribou Rock that overlooks West Bearskin Lake to view the beautiful yellows of the boreal forest.

Even on an overcast day the colors looked bright.
