Our six-year-old granddaughter Adeline flew from Atlanta alone to spend the next three weeks with us. We are having a lot of fun outdoors. We plan a new outdoor adventure every day. The three things she wanted to do when visiting Poppy and Grandma was to swim at the “Y”, go camping and eat “World’s Best” donuts. In between those three we hike to a new spot everyday. Addie loves to take photos so I am teaching her how to use my camera.
The High Falls at Grand Portage State Park is roaring at this time of year. It produces a beautiful double rainbow when the sun is shining. Addie discovered how difficult it is to photograph the falls. She wanted to take photos of the falls, however, the spray that creates the rainbow also gets you wet when standing on the overlook. We brought an umbrella to keep some of the mist off of us. We had a plastic bag over the camera and Addie got some great photos. You can see how high the falls are by comparing to the guy in the red shirt in the upper left corner of Addie’s photo.
