A variety of wildflowers are now blooming creating some great photographic opportunities. I got some photos of blue flags also known as the wild iris.

Storm Over Grand Marais Harbor 001

Several storms went through this week. I drove to Grand Marais to watch one of the storms pass over the harbor.

Just up the hill from Grand Marais is the Lakeview Dairy. This storm almost looks like it has a face.

A little to close for Comfort

After taking some photos Karla and I arrived at home. It was still raining so I sat in the car waiting for the rain to stop. All of a sudden a lightning bolt hit the tree just outside our house. When lightning strikes close to you the sound and brightness of the light is amazing. At the same time the balsam that was struck exploded sending wood chips flying everywhere. Many landed on our deck and bounced off our bedroom window. We were very fortunate that there was no damage to the house.
