View of Lake Superior Shoreline

Some very generous friends invited us to stay at their beautiful home while they were gone. Their home is located at the top of a cliff overlooking Lake Superior. The lake views were awesome and their flower gardens were beautiful.

At the bottom of a 160 step staircase is a little beach of beautiful wave worn stones.

They look nice dry but after being washed by the waves the colors are incredible.

Lake Superior Shoreline 001

Just past the beach is a unique stone formation that juts out into Lake Superior. Some of the rocks are balanced on top and held in place by gravity.

Even on a gray day this point with the Lake Superior waves rolling in along the beach made some interesting photos.

Tettegouche State Park

One day we drove to Tettegouche State Park and hiked the overlook on Palisade Head to get a photo of Shovel Point.

On the top we found lots of sweet tasting blueberries just right for a midday snack. This has been a great year for blueberries all over northern Minnesota.
