Ft. Snelling State Park buck 001

Karla and I drove down to the Twin Cities this weekend to attend a wedding and also visit with friends for a couple of days. Sunday afternoon we decided to take a trip to Ft. Snelling State Park to see if we could find some of the deer that we saw there last fall.

It took a little searching but we did find several nice bucks. One of the largest ones was sharing a patch of ground with a family of wild turkeys. I thought these two were going to start fighting.

Three of the bucks were sparring back and forth but since the brush was so thick I didn’t get any good photos. Afterwards the largest and more dominant buck posed for a few images before heading into the thicker woods.

Grand Marais moonrise

I did get a photo of the moonrise in the Grand Marias harbor last week so I included it in with this week’s “Photo of the Week”.
