On Mother’s Day, we had a picnic with our son, Adam, and his wife, Jordan and spent the afternoon on the Beaver River.

When the water is high, the Beaver River has one of the prettiest series of waterfalls. It is one continuous waterfall for about a quarter of a mile.

It feels good to be able to spend time hiking the rivers again after a long winter.

Middle Gooseberry Falls 001

I think spring has finally arrived on the North Shore. There is plenty of water cascading over the waterfalls which makes hiking along the rivers very enjoyable. We hiked two of the rivers this week. I took this photo of the Middle Falls on the Gooseberry River with a clear blue sky in the background.
