Karla and I had an awesome wildlife adventure while returning home from Two Harbors earlier this week. We were driving through Cascade River State Park when we saw two ravens perched in a tree. This is the time of year that more deer are hit by vehicles along Hwy 61. Seeing ravens is usually a good indicator of a dead deer. We slowed down and as we passed by I glanced under a thick spruce tree and saw a bobcat sitting just behind the rib cage of a car killed deer. I got my camera ready and we drove back to the site. The bobcat was still there and I was able to be get a pretty good photo of him crouched behind the log.Wolves Feeding on Deer 001
We went to Cascade Lodge & Restaurant for supper and after supper we decide to go back to see if the bobcat came back. I had my camera ready and window down when we approached the deer carcass. We were both surprised when instead of a bobcat we saw four gray wolves feeding on the carcass.
