With the warm weather the Pink & White Showy Lady’s-Slippers at Gooseberry Falls State Park finally bloomed.

Under a normal year they would bloom in late June. Now here it is in August and they are gorgeous.

They must have liked the cool weather as the colors on the slippers are some of the best I have seen.

Summer Caribou Lake

On the way home I stopped at Caribou Lake and hiked up to White Sky Rock on the Superior Hiking Trail. Overlooking Caribou Lake was just as awesome.

Summer Oberg Lake

The weather was great this week. Everywhere you went it felt like summer. I love the puffy white clouds that you get on a summer day in August. During the week I headed for the overlook on Oberg Mountain. When I got to the opening where it overlooks Oberg Lake the clouds couldn’t have been prettier. Several people came by commenting on how nice a day it was to get out and hike.
