Karla and I spent a couple of days in Duluth this week. While going through Two Harbors I stopped to photograph the Edna G tug boat while a light snow was coming down. There were two ore boats loading on the other side of the dock.

Hidden Falls on the Cascade River

I hadn’t been to Hidden Falls on the Cascade River for some time so I hiked in to photograph the falls. Not many people go to this spot in winter. The view of the Cascade River from the trail is great anytime but with the pines and cedars covered with snow the view was exceptional.

Northwoods Cabin

Our neighbors have this beautiful little cabin in the woods that always calls to me when I am out snowshoeing. The snow covered conifers mixed with the white bark of the birch trees make for a wonderful Minnesota winter scene.

Snowshoeing

Although short lived we had great snow earlier this week. About 6 inches came to most of the North Shore and covered the trees with beautiful white fluff. I went snowshoeing and it was so quiet and peaceful in the woods exploring around our property. If that face on the top of this burned out white pine stump could talk it would have many stories to tell of years gone by.
