Weather in Georgia was very different. The leaves were out and the temps were in the 70s. We spent three days camping in F. D. Roosevelt State Park in the Georgia hills around Pine Mountain. Along with the great overlooks and history that the park has to offer, it also has a pretty little lake that reminded me of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. Since Addie loves the outdoors we sat in the moonlight along the shoreline listening to the frogs. She was really interested in the bull frogs with their deep pitched songs.F. D. This park was the second home of Franklin D. Roosevelt. It is called the Little White House. Many stone and log cabins located around the park are the work of the Civilian Conservation Corps. The antique doors and hinges were exactly like the ones in Gooseberry Falls State Park in Minnesota. In nearby Warm Springs, the mineral water pools were used by Roosevelt to sooth his legs after suffering from polio.
