Since the 1800’s the Edna G has been gracing moonrises over Agate Bay in Two Harbors. The Edna G was the last steam tugboat used on Lake Superior to help ore boats enter and leave the Two Harbors ore docks. She is now permanently moored at the dock and open for tours at various times.Moonrise Over Agate Bay 002
Of the hundreds of moonrises that have taken place in front of the Edna G I don’t think there could have been a more magical one than Thursday night. Steve Van Kekerix and I spent about an hour watching and photographing the full moon as it rose above the calm waters of Agate Bay. Between the glistening light cast from the huge full moon, the ever circling beacon of light from the Two Harbors Light Station and the reflection of the Edna G in the blue waters of Lake Superior, the whole scene was an infinite outburst of beauty.
