Lupines are not native to the North Shore but they sure add a splash of color to the roadsides from Two Harbors to Grand Marais. Many people have been spreading the seeds so Lupines are showing up in more and more locations. Lupines are biennials. To transplant them you must take the small non-flowering plants. The plants die after they flower. In some areas there are huge fields of lupines.
