Read MoreGrand Marais Harbor 001
Earlier in the week large rollers hit the North Shore. Combined with the colder temperatures, spray from those rollers froze on the rocks creating beautiful ice sculptures. The waves that crashed onto the shore were very powerful and noisy, but when photographed at a slow shutter speed seemed to be transformed into a tranquil panorama. This photo was taken at sunrise just outside of the Grand Marais Harbor. The sun cast a pink hue on the horizon for just a few minutes. I was glad I was there in time to see it.
