As winter approaches increasing storms produce onshore winds. Last week we had one of those storms that really churned up Lake Superior. Northeast winds blew all day producing waves as high as 20 feet. The spray from this wave at Gooseberry looks like old man winter himself.
In one spot there is a small cave in the rock cliff were the waves exiting the cave collide with the incoming waves. When the two meet, the water explodes and makes for quite an awe inspiring sight.
