The moon was definitely in the limelight last week. Clear conditions made it possible for me to photograph the rising moon two evenings in a row. On Tuesday, the night before the full moon, there were only a few clouds on the horizon so I went to Split Rock Lighthouse State Park. Just below the lighthouse are several boulders covered in ice from the freezing spray that make a great spot from which to photograph the rising moon. The temperature was 5 degrees below zero with a strong wind putting the wind chill at -40.
