Karla and I had plans to go camping this weekend but the forecast was for rain – lots of it so we changed our plans and took a drive to Thunder Bay, Ontario in Canada.
We stopped at Grand Portage State Park on the way to see the High Falls. The waterfalls were impressive but it was the mushrooms along the trail that caught more of our attention.
It was so dry this year that very few mushrooms were coming out. Then we got all this rain and it seems that the ground just exploded with mushrooms. They are growing on stumps, in the grass, on fallen logs, everywhere you looked.
We had so much fun finding and photographing the mushrooms. Karla did the finding and I did the picture taking. Attached are just a few of the hundreds that we found.
