Sunrise Mouth of Gooseberry River
Last night while driving back from bringing our daughter Rebecca to the airport we got into fog along Lake Superior. Karla said, “I am getting tired of driving in fog”. It seems that we have had our share of fog over the last week. Warm humid air meeting the cool waters of Lake Superior this time of year does produce its share of fog.Fog Over Split Rock Lighthouse
Driving in fog can get tiresome but photographing Lake Superior in fog never does. It changes the shoreline with every passing minute. I got up early for some foggy sunrises this past week. I was very thankful I did even though it’s harder to get up for sunrises in the summer since the sun in June will rise at 5:10 AM. The attached photos are a sunrise off the mouth of the Gooseberry River and early morning fog shadowing Split Rock Lighthouse in the distance.
