Last Sunday night Karla and I ordered a pizza and sat on the shore in front of the Edna G. to watch the moon come up. The orange glow from the moon and the harbor lights gave the Edna G. an orange glow that made for a great photo. While sitting there we noticed a suitcase on the ground. Now days you always worry about unattended packages. Soon an older gentleman came up and I asked him if it was his. It was and we started talking.
He said he was waiting for the Edgar Speer ore boat to come in. He was just hired to work on the boat. The captain told him if he could get to Two Harbors he could hop on the boat. He caught a plane for Duluth and took a taxi from Duluth to Two Harbors. It seemed like an expensive way to get to town but there is no other public transportation from Duluth to the ore docks at night. He talked about traveling many places in the world. His family was back in Europe. He was excited to get a chance to work on the boats and as the Edgar Speer pulled in under the full moon we wished him well on his new adventures.
