Shovel Point Tettegouche State Park
Due to many bright sunny days recently, it is predicted that this year will have some of the best fall colors in 10 years. With that being said the fall colors haven’t arrived yet to the North Shore. The trees are turning very slowly. Several overlooks in the Sawtooth Mountains and Tettegouche State Park saw very little color change this week. I predict another two weeks before the colors are at peak. Rain over the last few days will help as the woods have been very dry. The rains are also helping to put out the 100,000 acre Pagami Creek fire currently burning in the BWCAW.
