Heading Out To Check The Nets
Whenever I am in Grand Marais I love going out on the break wall early in the morning. It’s where you can capture many a sunrise as it comes up behind the Grand Marais Light. The harbor is so peaceful at this time of day. The sights, sounds, and smells all seem to come alive in the morning air.
Harley Tofte seems to be as reliable as the sunrise. He is the local commercial fisherman that heads out each morning to tend his nets. Harley is always accompanied by the local flock of Herring Gulls that make Grand Marais their home.
